Professor of Procedural Law and Director of the Procedural Law Department (University of Chile), as well as President of the Chilean Society of Philosophy of Law. Carbonell obatined her PhD in University Carlos III of Madrid.

She is a very well-known scholar on Jurisprudence and Evidence Law.  She has been involved in several studies concerning law and error, including a Chilean project on “Error and Judicial Process”, and a Spanish project about errors in law creation and adjudication.  She was Director of the PhD Law Program of University of Chile (2017-2021).
