Lawyer specialized in criminal law and legal philosophy, she graduated from the Universidad Libre de Colombia and holds a master’s degree in Political Studies from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
In 2009, she received the George Meany–Lane Kirkland Human Rights Award from the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). Her work in human rights advocacy has focused on supporting victims of state crimes through litigation and legal representation. She has played a key role as an advisor to labor organizations within the trade union division of the José Alvear Restrepo Lawyers’ Collective, contributing to the pursuit of truth and justice in cases involving forced disappearances and the killings of union leaders. She has also supported national trade union federations in collective reparation processes. Currently, she coordinates a team of researchers monitoring the interference practices of certain companies in the ultra-processed food and sugary beverage industry.
