Adjunct professor of undergraduate, master's and doctoral courses at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), and of the master's degree in Evidential Legal Reasoning at Universitat de Girona (Spain). PhD in Law, awarded with the cum laude distinction, from Universitat de Girona (Spain). He was visiting professor at Northwestern University (USA) and at the University of Brescia (Italy).

Member of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL), the Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Procesal (IIDP) and the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Processual (IBDP). He is a member of the advisory board of Quaestio facti. International Journal on Evidential Legal Reasoning. Ramos coordinates the research group O Novo Direito Probatório (CNPQ), at PUCRS, and the collection Raciocínio Probatório. He is the author of books and articles published in Brazil and abroad, as well as, legal translations. He is also a lawyer.
