Associate Professor of Civil Procedural Law at the Law School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), since 2011. Visiting professor at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2023. Post-doctorate at the Università degli Studi di Pavia, Italy, in 2013. PhD in Law from UFRGS (2007).

Member of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL), the Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Procesal (IIDP) and is a member of the board of the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Processual (IBDP). He is also a lawyer.
